Sloe Gin Fizz

The sloe gin fizz is a traditional Christmas cocktail that your Christmas party guests will love.

  • 12 ounces (330 grams) of sugar
  • 5 1/2 fluid ounces (170 ml) of water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (25 ml) of sloe gin
  • 1/2 tablespoons (25 ml) of gin
  • 1/2 tablespoons (25 ml) of lemon juice
  • Soda water
  • One lemon slice

Instructions

Mix the sugar and water, then boil the mixture. Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool. Pour the cooled, sugary syrup in a bottle and refrigerate so that it cools even more.

When the syrup has cooled sufficiently, pour 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of it, along with the sloe gin, gin and lemon juice, into a shaker that is filled with ice.  Shake the mixture briskly and then strain it, pouring the leftover liquid and strain it into a highball glass that has also been filled with ice.

Top up with soda water and garnish with lemon.
