The Sour Italian is a unique drink that will add variety to your Christmas festivities.

  • 3 teaspoons (15 ml) of Campari
  • 2 1/2 teaspons (12 1/2 ml )of Galliano
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons (12 1/2 ml) of Strega
  • 15 ounces (420 grams) of sugar
  • 7 fluid ounces (210 ml) water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons (12 1/2 ml) of cranberry juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (25 ml) lemon juice
  • Dash of egg white
  • Two dashes of Angostura bitters

Instructions

Mix the sugar and water and bring the mixture to a boil. Then allow the mixture to cool, so that it forms a sugary syrup.  Put it in a bottle and store it in the refrigerator, so that it cools even more.

When the mixture has cooled sufficiently, pour 2 1/2 teaspoons (12 1/2 ml) of the syrup, along with all of the other ingredients, into a shaker that has been filled with ice. Shake, then strain the mixture into a wine glass or champagne flute. Serve.
