This delicious mulled wine recipe will keep you warm on cold winter evenings.

  • One 750 ml bottle of red wine. Good choices are Merlot, Zinfandel or Cabernet Sauvignon
  • One orange, sliced and peeled (keep the peel to add to the pot to improve the flavor)
  • 2 ounces of brandy
  • About 9 or10 cloves
  • Two thirds of a cup of cup of sugar or honey
  • 3 sticks of cinammon
  • 1 teaspoons of fresh ginger or allspice or 2 teaspoons of ground ginger

PREPARATION:

Mix all of the ingredients together in a slow cooker or a large pot. Warm the ingredients on low to medium heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally so that the sugar or honey dissolves thoroughly.  Do not allow the mixute to boil.
